首选的名字

UNA allows any student to request a preferred 名字 to reflect in CANVAS and for the class roster. Electing to use a preferred 名字 will not change your 法律 名字.

What is a 首选的名字?

A preferred 名字 is a 名字 that students plan to go by on campus. Other than cases where 法律 名字 is required, this is the 名字 that will be sued in different instances such as CANVAS 还有班级花名册.

你的 法律 名字 would continue to be used in the following places:

• 学习成绩
• 成绩单
• 金融援助 and Scholarships Documents
• Any 法律 document produces by the University
• Degreeworks
• 鬃毛卡

请求 FOR CHANGE

A request to add a preferred 名字 to be used for CANVAS 还有班级花名册 should be emailed to registrar@salamzone.com. Please include your 法律 名字, 新名字, L#, and UNA email address when making a request in the following format:

Current Legal Name: FirstName Last名字

Requested/首选的名字: 新名称姓

L#:

UNA email address:

Please note: There are limits to what you may select as a campus 名字. Character limits and character restrictions apply. 这时， middle 名字s will not be changed on the roster without a 法律 名字 change.

**ETS should be 联系了 for a request 名字 change. If there is a 法律 名字 change or change to a student's 名字 in Banner, it will automatically update in Canvas, and ETS will not need to be 联系了.

LEGAL NAME/GENDER CHANGE

The 法律 名字 or gender of a student cannot be changed unless a certified copy of a court order and a new birth certificate documentating the 新名字 and gender change is provided. The request and documentation should be submitted to the One Stop Office, First Floor, Wendell Gunn Univeristy Commons 或者通过电子邮件， registrar@salamzone.com.
