Welcome to the website for the University of North Alabama's Department of 工程 和 Industrial Professions. The Department offers bachelor's degrees in 工程, 工程技术, 和 Occupational Health Science, as well as a master's degree in Applied 制造工程 和 an associate's degree in Mechatronics. A variety of certificate options are also available across the disciplines.

The interdisciplinary Bachelor of 工程 (B.英格.) program offers 学生s a robust foundation in core engineering topics, while allowing them to specialize in multiple disciplines. Designed in collaboration with regional industrial partners, the curriculum equips graduates with the knowledge, 技能, 和 qualities sought by leading companies for their engineering postions. Students can tailor their studies to suit their career aspirations, choosing from certificates in Biological 工程, 化学工程, 工程管理, 制造工程, 和 Power Generation 工程. Graduates of this program are well-prepared for diverse pathways, including graduate studies, 专业的学校, 创业, 和 successful careers as engineers in industry.
The 工程技术 program has yielded some amazing accomplishments after completing its 6th year. 第一个, our 学生s participating in the American Institute of Chemical 英格ineers' (AIChE) competitions have finished in the top 5 in national competition in 4 of the 5 years since the program's inception, besting many premier institutions. 第二个, our 学生s 和 graduates are finding success in co-op 和 full-time positions at partner companies regionally as well as elsewhere in the U.S.
The Occupational Health Science program (formerly known as the Industrial Hygiene program) is one of only four 教唆-accredited bachelor's program in the United States. Our program has been in existence here at UNA since 1979 when it was added due to the interest of both the 政府 和 industry in safety in the work environment. 它一直是 designed to prepare 学生s for direct entry into positions in industry, 政府, 和 other organizations as occupational health scientists 和 for entry into graduate programs in environmental health 和 safety. Our online Master's in Applied 制造工程 will begin its 3rd year with an expectecd enrollment of 25 学生s for the 2022-2023 academic year. The first cohort of graduates took place at the completion of the spring semester of 2021. Also, this degree program participates in UNA的AMP计划 (Accelerated Master's Program) where qualified undergraduate 学生s may start this master's degree concurrently with their undergraduate degree — thus, 学生s are on a fast-track to equip themselves with a master's degree 和 saving money because AMP courses are offered at the undergraduate tuition rate.
